Womens Running Magazine Cover - Julie Tyson Westcott ArticleThe inaugural issue of Women's Running Magazine has a great article called, "Run for a Good Cause" by Jen Murphy in their January/February 2009 issue. As part of an awesome highlight on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT) Program, one of the Co-Leaders for the San Diego LIVESSTRONG Army was mentioned. Julie Tyson Westcott is a cancer survivor, LIVESTRONG Summit 2008 Delegate and a Co-Leader of the San Diego LIVESTRONG Army.   She is also a current Mentor for the San Diego/Hawaii Chapter of the Team in Training Run Team and currently fundraising for TNT as part of her Carlsbad Marathon 2009 training.  She's You can follow her story on her online blog at: www.curesrock.com

Pick up a copy of this magazine at your local fitness store, and read about all the great charity running programs out there. The highlights also cover great programs, like the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure and The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America Team Challenge.  The story also highlights motivational programs, like the LIVESTRONG Challenge, Joints in Motion Training Team , Train to End Stroke and Cancer to 5K. 

There are so many great options out there! As we head into 2009, let's resolve to unite and kick cancer to the curb -- and running on behalf of a cancer charity is a great way to get involved (and get your workouts in!).   Happy New Year!
